29 June 2020

The electric utilities sector has the potential to power a sustainable green energy future for all. From Mexico, China, the US, Germany and the UK, we are seeing a real divide in how the most influential utilities companies globally are responding to the low carbon transition.

How switched on are the most influential global electric utilities’ companies?

The Electric Utilities Benchmark – built by the World Benchmarking Alliance in partnership with CDP and the ACT Initiative – will reveal corporate ambition, target setting and future thinking around new technologies and renewables. The benchmark will contribute critical data and key findings to better understand what the road ahead looks like and some of the barriers and opportunities to break through.

Electric utilities is seen as the Great Enabler – a high-emitter with an enormous capacity to disrupt and drive change. We look forward to a multi-stakeholder dialogue looking at where policy and the private sector collide and where economic pressure is both accelerating and slowing down progress to build a more energy efficient future that leaves no one behind.
